Pete Tabor, the principal designer, builder, and artist at the ricochet lab, has been making things by hand for over 40 years. He was educated on the east coast in sculpture and photography.

One of Pete’s first ‘maker’ memories was seeing Alexander Calder’s ‘Circus’ in New York City. These small, kinetic, wire sculptures, coupled with Calder’s playful style sum up the ricochet lab. Clever, imaginative, and playful, the lab is a workshop for ideas, designs, objects, and art.

When people ask me what I do, I usually say:

            "I make things."

            "Like what?" they ask.

Well... then I rattle off a list of seemingly unrelated objects:
house parts, tools, furniture, instruments, handbags, women’s shoes...

That either ends our chat, or we talk and talk and talk.....
